Gothenburg Waterfront |
According to Wikipedia, "Gothenburg is the second-largest city in Sweden (after Stockholm) and the fifth-largest in the Nordic countries.
The City of Gothenburg was founded in 1621 by King Gustavus Adolphus of Sweden. It lies by the sea at the mouth of Göta Älv—the river running through the city—and is the largest seaport in the Nordic countries.[3]
Gothenburg is also home to many students, as the city includes both the University of Gothenburg and Chalmers University of Technology. Volvo Cars was founded in Gothenburg in 1927."
Marina down the street from Gunilla's home. |
Gothenburg, Sweden |
After a good nights sleep, we ventured out on foot and explored the water front area within a short walking distance of Gunilla's home. Lunch at the marina was a combination of sunny cool skies, nice breezes and fantastic fish. I'm pleasantly surprised with the quality of photos taken with my Canon G11 Point & Shoot camera. Tomorrow we provision the boat and set sail.
This looks like a beautiful little city. So, picturesque. I am hoping that you have great weather to set sail. Things are going well here, just having a bad rain storm now and Charlotte will not go outside. I don't blame her. I don't either. Have fun and I'll be checking this website to enjoy the trip with you.
